Certification for fair trade and responsible supply chains
Impact, special achievements & commitmentsIn the year 1966 a group of producers decide to associate, to form a packing plant, which they choose to call FRUEMPAC or Fruticultores Empacadores de General Roca, with the purpose of delivering all of their fruits to this plant, to become strong in volume and also have the control of the export of said fruit, purchase of materials and thus optimize the costs of the production, packing, etc.
Among these producers were Don Raúl Laino and Roberto Garrido, their families are still at the head of the company and are the majority partners. Both families have their farms under the FFL certifications, as well as the farms of Fruempac SA 5 years ago. The project brought a lot of satisfaction to the staff, which has strengthened their sense of belonging to the company year after year. The current context of the country and especially the productive Valley is one of many political and economic changes, where the sectors of least resources are the most affected. The FFL project has given all the staff the desire to help and this has managed to change the quality of life of many families and they hope to continue helping the whole community and improve the quality of life in general. Not only has it improved and helped the community, but the implementation for several years of this voluntary standard of FFL has brought remarkable improvements for workers, given constant improvements of the company. They aspire to greater and continuous improvements, to train staff to improve year by year their commitment to workers and the entire community.
