Certification for fair trade and responsible supply chains
Impact, special achievements & commitmentsCanaan Fair Trade is an innovative company in Palestine that exists since 2004 and has been devoted to implementing the principles of fair trade from the beginning, as is also reflected in its name. The company provides very good and well paid employment opportunities to workers in the Jenin/Berqin area with a high standard of social responsibility and team spirit. In addition, Canaan Fair Trade - through its partner PFTA - reaches out to more than 1.100 farmers and members of women cooperatives and their families, providing income for many households throughout the North or Palestine. Many of the company's products are certified organic (various organic certifications), which ensures a high level of product quality and integrity, achieves good product prices (fair trade prices and organic premium to farmers) and has a positive environmental impact. In addition, Canaan is active in promoting research in agriculture and implementing agricultural and environmental projects through its research subsidiary CORE.
